About Extractions
Dr. Knox does perform extractions; however, she will refer a patient to the oral surgeon when she feels that it would be best for the patient.
TOOTH EXTRACTIONS
Extractions are typically performed when a tooth cannot be restored or the patient chooses not to restore it. When sutures are not required, only one appointment is necessary.
Dr. Knox does not perform emergency extractions. It is almost impossible for local anesthetics to work when a tooth is abscessed (infected). Usually, Dr. Knox prescribes an antibiotic and the extraction is scheduled after the antibiotic has reduced or eliminated the infection.
